Wow. A crazy saturday night, 18th March '06. A Band Once performed for another function, MD's prom. This time it was so short noticed that the band didn't practice at all and all we could rely on was our experience.
Was supposed to go there with my 'date' Mel. But since I had to perform, I couldn't sit with her or accompany her during the function at all. I only got to see her right before the performance and of course, she looked so beautiful =D. Sorry yea? =/
Anyway, after the performance, I did get a chance to take a picture with her but that was it. A good friend, she is. Hehe.
We could only play 3 songs that night, coz there was a certain time limit that we must obey. A solo performance by this MD dude, Padil's friend's band, Airholes and lastly A Band Once. That was the order of performaces for last night.
We only played Ana's Song, Miss You Love and Pupus. If only we knew earlier that the DJ sucked, we could have played like 2 or 3 more songs. But heck, let it be. We were already happy with the 3 songs we performed. Midi sang Miss You Love for us which took off most of the burden off me coz I had to sing and play the guitar for all the songs. But it was yet another successful performance. Phew.
Again, I felt bad for abandoning Mel the whole time. Darn.. Sorreeeee~
Alot of my friends went there. Tony was committee member, Liberty, Arif, Shukri, Ridhwan, Chong, Angelina, Daniel, Fayad, Fariza, Chin and more. There were also lots of hot chicks including my friend's little sister who went there in an all lace, thigh-showing dress. Damn. Haha..
The raving started out slow. But when the lights completely went out and only the stage lights were on, everyone went crazy. But then, the music started to get sucky and by 11pm I got really bored and just started to wander off to nowhere, including outside where I saw Zaim with his girlfriend. Tsk tsk. =p
Comparison between the SOAS Prom and the MD Prom? MD was more properly organised but the raving bit sucked. But I am totally satisfied with our performance. Unlike the SOAS Prom, there were no voting system at all for the Best Dressed, Couple, etc. MD gave every guest a colour coded paper for specific categories and they counted it while the performance was going on. And Tony made a brilliant speech to officially start the occasion. Oh, let me rephrase his name: Tony 'THE PROM KING' Rasiman. Hahahahah. Anyway 'twas all good. I only liked the raving bit of the SOAS Prom. Food at both occasions were great. But sadly, I had to control myself last night because I was going to sing and we were the last band. By the time I wanted to enjoy the meal, they have already taken the food away. SHIT. WHY ME. Hahah.. Nah.. Its all cool. Aytes. I gota shower now. Bye~
